The Halloween Chrysalis Derby will take place on October 13, 2009, at 5:00 PM PST. You will need your trusty mounts to compete. Any player that wins the race in their nation will receive a prize. However, if that player wins using a mount from the premium shop, they will receive an even better prize, something that very few have seen. So make sure your mounts are well fed and rested, because October 13 will be a very special day for at least 2 Chrysalis inhabitants.

How to race:

There will be two races, one for Elerd and one for Rogwel. All races will be held on Battleforge.

Elerd: 5:00 PM PST

Rogwel: 5:30 PM PST

Please show up to Point A at least 5 minutes before the race is to begin. The GM will instruct racers to say "Ready" to make sure they are participating. Once the race has started you will head to point B, get off your mount and perform a "Dance" emote. Then you will get back on your mount and head to Point C. You will perform a second "Dance" emote at Point C and then head off to the finish line, Point D. The first person who gets to Point D and touches a GM will be declared the winner. Note: We will verify that the winner has performed the dance emote at all beginning points to be declared the winner.

Starting 6:00 PM PST, there will be a 30% increase in EXP for players under level 70!

The events will split into two groups, the first group will consists of players Level 50-79 and the second group of players will be level 80 and above. There will be four Monster Mash locations. There will be 4 sets of coordinates for the low and higr level groups, two for each nation.

Thanks to the astounding efforts from Chrysalis inhabitants everywhere, the horrific outcome of a pufu infestation on our delicate ecology has been prevented. While we would like to announce everything’s all hunky-dory, emergency announcements were never made to proclaim that all is right with the world.

Our radars detect another pufu outbreak is imminent somewhere near your nation’s castle (those in Elerd, we advise avoiding the Save NPC near the Skill Reset NPC in Cerity in favor of another alternative). It appears that these Pufu hold regular Energy Stones, a stone that’s a little bigger compared to the lesser ones. While the pufu themselves are not much of a threat to experienced, battle-hardened adventurers, we fear the other things our radars found appearing on the eve of this new outbreak to be… not so accommodating.

Let it be known that should the unfortunate event of death happen during this outbreak, the penalty of losing experience will not count against you. Good luck, we hope for your safety, and the rest of the world’s…

Adventurers, Chrysalis is being overrun with Pufus, and we need your help to keep their numbers in check!

On August 14, 2009, all citizens of Chrysalis are being asked to keep a watchful eye out for large packs of Pufus roaming near populated areas and to dispose of them at will. For those who find no joy in taking the life of a cuddly Pufu, please keep in mind that your reward for doing so will be Lesser Energy Stones.

Lesser Energy Stones are required to construct RvR pylons and siege engines and will be of great use to any noble warrior planning to bring his or her nation glory in the upcoming battle.

Announcements will be made on Battleforge indicating where breakouts of Pufus have been spotted. So what say you, citizens of Chrysalis, will you help us control the Pufu population?

Please note that these Pufu anomalies will be appearing every hour at random locations in your nation.

Having forged new identities in the eternal fires of Heck, the two have emerged virtually invincible! The only hope for stopping them comes in the form of their mortal enemy: the Angels! So grab your Halo, your Angel Mask, or your Seraphim Wings, and get ready to repel this infernal menace!

The diabolical duo shall be making their biumphal return (we'd say "triumphal", but there aren't three of them...) on August 13, on Batlleforge! Participants must be wearing at least one item from the Angel Set: a Halo, an Angel Mask, or Seraphim Wings.

Professor Hansted went back to the drawing board and made some new prototype Simulacannons! These guns should definitely be able to replicate the creatures of Chrysalis safely and without overheating this time... Definitely...!

Join assistants Guinni and Phigg as they test out these prototypes on July 31, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. (PST), on Runeshaper, a fair distance outside of the Steel Stronghold and the Tranquil Sanctuary.

"We still need more adventurers to reach Rope Isle, though."

"Indeed."

The first figure lets out an exasperated sigh, then says, "We should activate the Metaexperiotron again, and give the less-experienced adventurers a boost. And I swear, if you say, 'Indeed' again, I'll hit you."

"Ind... right. How long this time?"

"Well, it takes a lot of Neo Steam to run, so we'll only run it from 1:00 a.m. (PST) on July 23, 2009 to 1:00 a.m. (PST) on July 24, 2009."

The second figure nods, and then begins to head back into the darkness. Before his footfalls fade into darkness, though, he says one final word: "Indeed."

Professor Hansted has done it again! This time, he’s invented the Simulacannon - a gun that can replicate almost any beast or machine in the known world!

He has entrusted the prototypes to two of his most trusted assistants: Guinni and Phigg. They’ll be testing them out on July 15, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. (PST), on Runeshaper, just outside the towns of Garnedine and Bijumir. They will be using the Simulacannons to create ten clones...!

Unfortunately, Professor Hansted still has not perfected his work on the Decimacannon, which is designed to DESTROY clones made by his Simulacannons... so that’s where YOU come in!

We need your help to keep these replicated rascals from running rampant across the region! (Say that ten times fast...!) As thanks, you can keep any and all items the clones were carrying!

The war between pirates and ninjas has finally come to the world of Chrysalis!

On July 13, 2009, the dread pirate Hacke and his dread crewmate Slashe will attempt to plunder the nations of Elerd and Rogwel!

And as history has shown, there is only one way to stand up to a pirate... SEND IN A NINJA!

Anyone wearing a full ninja costume (Ninja Mask, Ninja Headband, and Ninja Swords) who defeats one of the pirates will win an awesome prize! (If you're not wearing a full ninja costume, we’ll be glad to have you join in the defense, but unfortunately, only 100% genuine ninjas will be eligible to receive prizes.) And since there’s only so many mangy seadogs to go around, every adventurer wearing a full ninja costume will receive a prize, whether they get a killing blow or not!

So sharpen your blades, ready your bows, and prepare your spells... The pirates are coming!

Somewhere in Chrysalis, at the laboratory of Professor Tedenhans, an experiment has gone awry, sending energy arcing into the air and across the land.

When asked about what happened, the Professor said, "My new invention, the Multiplicatorizer, was meant to duplicate Neo Steam, so that we could stop all of this arguing. But due to my miscalculations, the Replicamation Beams reflected off of the Neo Steam receiver and were scattered across the world. The beams are not harmful to living beings - all they will do is increase the amount of objects carried by those not shielded by the Neo Steam receivers in the major cities. And only temporarily at that."

According to Professor Tedenhans, the effects of the Multiplicatorizer will take effect around 7:00 p.m. (PST) on Friday, July 10, 2009, and last until 8:00 p.m. (PST) on Sunday, July 12, 2009.

Two machinists have simultaneously discovered a way to temporarily clone themselves, each creating an army of ten.

They have declared that they will use these armies to muck up the transportation systems (the subway and the steam balloon platform) of their enemy's capital city, and that they will do so at 5:00 PM PST (8:00 PM EST).

In preparation, local authorities have put out the call for adventurers to help defend these vital transportation systems from the saboteurs.

If you're an able-bodied adventurer, make your way to your nation's capital city and prepare to protect it from this impending threat!

Rules

1) At the designated time, two Lyell ambassadors will arrive in Greticos and Cerity Praha. They will be standing outside of the castles, but inside of the city.

2) The players' goal is to invade their enemy's castle, get to the ambassador, and prevent them from getting inside the castle. Please note that the ambassadors are going to defend themselves, but they will be alone. Players are allowed to go and defend their faction's ambassador if they so wish.

3) Once the event begins, both factions will have thirty (30) minutes to attempt to invade their enemy's castle, attack the Lyell ambassador that is waiting within, and stop them. The faction that stops their target ambassador first wins the event.

As a tip, you can attack enemy players and enemy NPCs by pressing the ~ key (the one to the left of the 1 key).

What was the rumbling that was heard earlier this week?

It was the unearthing of documents describing an ancient "sport" known as "Treasure Blitz"!

According to the archeologists that found them, the goal of Treasure Blitz was for a team of "blitzers" (offense) to slip past a town's "sentinels" (defense) and prove their skill by opening as many specially-designated treasure chests as they could. After a designated period of time, the teams would switch roles and the “battlefield” would move to a different town. The team to open more of these chests was declared the victors, and won the adoration of millions!

And now, the newly formed Chrysalis High Athletic Society (or C.H.A.S.E.) is bringing this sport to the masses! Here’s your chance to show off your incredible skills!

The game: Treasure Blitz!

The date and time: Friday, June 5, 2009, at 6:00 PM PST (9:00 PM EST) The place: Runeshaper! (if you're on Voltspire, you can log on to Runeshaper and still use your characters there)

The point: To have some fun!

The rules:

1. There are two teams, the "blitzers" (the offense) and the "sentinels" (the defense). Each nation will take turns switching between the two roles. The blitzers will, when each round starts, head for the three chests at the entrance of the designated town, and try to open them. The sentinels will attempt to prevent the blitzers from opening any chests as best as they can.
2. After 10 minutes, the referees will announce the end of the round, the game will move to the next game area (These areas will be announced ahead of time.), and the teams will switch roles. (For example: Round 1, Elerd are the sentinels (so they’re on defense), so they will be waiting inside the town. The team from Rogwel are the blitzers (offense), so they will be waiting just outside the town.)
3. There will be 8 minutes between each round for both teams to get to the next game area, which will be announced by the referees as a reminder.
4. Each chest opened by the blitzers will earn their side one point. If the sentinels open any of the chests that they are guarding, their side will LOSE one point. In addition, any chests that are opened before the start of the round will NOT count towards the point totals for either side. The game referees will be keeping track of the point totals and summoning new chests as necessary. They will also announce the current scores between rounds.
5. If, for some reason, the referees determine that a player needs to be taken out of the game, that player will be removed. You have been warned.
6. At the end of the fourth round, the points will be tallied up, and the team with the most points will be declared the victors!

Please note that there is no pausing in Treasure Blitz; if the opposing team takes you out, simply come back to the game area as fast as you can and get back into the action.

Round 1 – Nasdaim – Elerd as sentinels, Rogwel as blitzers

Round 2 – Garnedine – Rogwel as sentinels, Elerd as blitzers

Round 3 – Bijumir – Elerd as sentinels, Rogwel as blitzers

Round 4 – Diren – Rogwel as sentinels, Elerd as blitzers

This time, you're not hunting for trinkets, but for a live target!

This event will run on May 29, 2009 at 5:00 PM PST (8:00 PM EST) on Runeshaper and at 6:00 PM PST (9:00 PM EST) on Voltspire. Both factions will have their events at the same time.

The rules are as follows:

1. Players will have fifteen (15) minutes to knock out the opposing faction’s Pom target as many times as possible. Players are allowed to and encouraged to defend their faction’s Pom if they so desire. The target Pom’s names will be announced just before the event begins.
2. You can use any weapon, skill, or spell at your disposal.
3. Each time the target is knocked out, they will return to the combat zone as soon as possible. The combat zone will be in the opposing faction's lands, so be careful! (In other words, The Rogwel Pom will head to Elerd's lands to be hunted and vice versa.)
4. Once fifteen (15) minutes have passed or they have been knocked out five (5) times, the target Pom will vanish. The GMs will then tally up the number of the Pom is defeated and buff the appropriate faction accordingly.

In short, the more times the target Pom is knocked out, the more buffs your side gets! But you'll have to be quick - the target Pom will be running for their lives and healing themselves, and doing everything they can to avoid defeat!

So log on tomorrow evening and join in the fun!

Are you ready for a Scavenger Hunt? If you aren't, TOO BAD!

RUNESHAPER SERVER! The hunt will begin for Rogwel at 4:00PM CMT (Chrysalis Mean Time) and Elerd at 5:00PM CMT. Chrysalis Mean Time shadows PST and is always displayed proudly on neosteam.atlusonline.com. GM Filidria will run the event for Rogwel and GM Tesuka will run it for Elerd. At the designated times above, Rogwel members should all meet just north of Garnedine near the trainers and Elerd should meet just east of Bijumir near the steam balloon operators. The rules are as follows:

1. Players will have thirty (30) minutes to find the items that will be listed after the rules have been announced.

2. Players cannot turn their items in until five minutes have passed from the beginning of the event. When five minutes have passed, the "goal" GM will announce that they are now accepting turn-ins.

3. Players cannot get help from anyone else. This is a solo event. If you are found to be getting help, you will be disqualified.

4. Only one set of turn-ins per player is allowed - no one can win more than once per event. Turn-ins must be done all at once. (So please don’t come back until you have all five items)

5. Prizes will be given out after the time limit passes or ten players have won (please allow time for this to be completed).

To commemorate your time in beta, we want you guys to make a Travel Journal chronicling your time in Chrysalis!

What is a Travel Journal you ask? It is just like a regular journal, except you would write about things you’re doing in Neo Steam! Feel free to accompany your journal with screenshots, videos, drawings and any other tidbits that you wish. (we like pretty pictures)

You can write about anything you wish – chronicle your journey through various quests, epic PvP battles, the various sights in Chrysalis etc!

You may use any free blogging service (such as www.blogger.com or www.livejournal.com ) to input your entries! If you wish to take video, www.fraps.com is a good program to use.

We also have a fansite kit available for art and other things here!

Rules:
1) Only journals with at least 10 entries will be considered
2) No inappropriate content please (use your best judgement)
3) An entry with a screenshot and a sentence description doesn’t count as an entry


Contest will run until a week after Launch Day (date TBA), and 2 winners will each receive
