At the center of the civilized world, mysteriously untouched by the effects of the shattering, lies Rope Isle. Once known as Acydia, many myths about the island have emerged over the centuries. According to ancient texts, when the earthquake struck Chrysalis, the massive shockwaves emanated outward from the perimeter of Acydia, breaking up the rest of the world and propelling the new landmasses away. It is said that many desperate citizens tried in vain to tie cables between their drifting continents and Acydia, in an attempt to keep the world whole, and as the island became nothing more than a web of tangled ropes and chains, it soon adopted its new nickname: Rope Isle.

Rope Isle contains the vast majority of Chrysalis's remaining Energy Stones, the spirit-infused gems from which Neo Steam is harvested. As new nations rose up and began to crave the power of Neo Steam, the desire to locate and colonize Rope Isle first became a necessity for survival. Elerd and Rogwel have fought many wars over the island, and ultimately, they were forced to sign a treaty allowing both countries equal access to the land and Energy Stones there. However, this treaty only began a large-scale cold war, as both nations began increasing their military presence on the island and worked to invent larger and deadlier machines of war.

In its present day, Rope Isle is a hostile land, unsafe for most civilians... But for those hoping to lead the fight for their nation's survival, there is much glory to be had here, provided you are willing to risk your own life to obtain it...
